We were delighted to welcome back our Community Luncheon Club for Over 50’s on Thursday, 30th June following the long break because of Covid. More than 40 people, including volunteers working in the kitchen and serving meals, attended.  Everyone enjoyed the good food and the fellowship as old friends caught up with the news. Pastor Peter Cho, who led the devotions and chorus singing at the end of the meal, said: ” What a joy it was to share the love of Jesus once again with people who have become good friends of ours over the years. Of course, we remembered those regular attenders who have now gone to be with the Lord but the atmosphere was brilliant.”

There will be one further meeting of the Luncheon Club on Thursday, 14th July (12.30pm) before the annual summer break in August. The club meets in school term time every other Thursday and resumes in September. The cost of the meal has been held at £4 per person.

A special thank you to Sainsbury’s, Pontllanfraith who have generously agreed to supply the food for the 14th July session. Guests will not be charged on that day but they will have the opportunity to make a donation to the Tabernacle Foodbank or Ukraine Appeal if they wish.
