Gwent Baptist Association president Tim Moody is urging churches and individuals to turn to the Lord in prayer this weekend as the beginning of a two-year prayer programme being arranged by the Association. He writes: “We stand on the cusp of what we hope to be an incredible two-year journey as an Association on prayer. I want to encourage you all to get involved. This weekend we will begin our journey with a 24-hour prayer time. Don’t panic; we aren’t expecting you to pray for the whole 24-hours. Instead, we are encouraging churches to get their congregations to commit to covering as many hours as possible, the heart behind this being that we would have multiple church congregations praying for 24-hours over the 7th and 8th of May. All the details can be found on the Gwent Baptist Association website at: https://www.gwentbaptists.com
Prayer has become a massive part of many of our lives in the last 12 months, as our connection from a church building was stripped away. Our ability to meet with others was reduced. Many of us have been reminded that prayer didn’t need a building; we didn’t need to be at a meeting; we could simply pray. From the oldest to the youngest, the most mature Christian to the recent disciple, everyone can pray. This weekend we are using the amazing Pray without Ceasing booklet written by Jonathan Forman as our guide, journeying through the story of David, so don’t worry if you don’t know where to start. The book has done that already.
Please give it a go whether it be just for 5 to 45 minutes, as we begin this exciting journey together.”
