ANOTHER SUMMER SPECTACULAR!

DSC00106

Our Summer Bible Club for children aged from 4-9 was a great success thanks to Pastor Peter, Hyeran, our faithful team of home volunteers and, of course, the super-enthusiastic group  from the Antioch church, Philadelphia in the United States.

A total of 88 children attended during the four- day event from 21-24 July and a special blessing this year was to see some of our older children actively sharing the leadership duties as staff assistants.  The Bible club was rounded off with a presentation and party attended by many parents and grandparents. The Mayor of Caerphilly Borough Council, Councillor Leon Gardiner, also attended and he praised the work of Tabernacle and Beulah for their ongoing commitment to serve children and young people in the community.

A big thank-you to all who supported the event financially and in many other practical ways. A second Summer Bible Club for children and young people aged 10 and over has been arranged for 7- 10 August.

TURNING TRIALS INTO TRIUMPHS!

A man met one of his former workmates after a period of several years. How are things with you?”, he asked. The reply rather caught him off guard – “Well, if you really want to know, life is a trial!” Sadly, his friend had been battling with a serious illness since giving up work and he was not expecting to get better.

We all face trials – health worries, the breakdown of relationships, concerns about money,  and sometimes in our Christian faith. But the Bible teaches us some important lessons about trials:

  1. God is at work in all things

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) Look again at the words of the Apostle Paul and notice what He does not say. Paul does not say that God is at work in a few things, several things, many things or even most things. God works good in all things. There is absolutely nothing that escapes His attention or comes without His divine care.

  1. God gives strength in every situation

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (2 Cor 9:8)

God knows our every need and graciously supplies everything that we need to make it through the trials of life. There is no situation too hard, no time when He forgets and no problem too great that His grace cannot help you through.

  1. Jesus has defeated the power of trials

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33) Jesus gives us security in an insecure world. He is the one who helps us overcome the troubles of the world. Jesus gives us His calm assurance in the midst of the world’s chaos. There is nothing that happens in this life that Jesus has not already overcome.

4. One day the trials will be removed

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. (Rev 21:4)

Today if you are experiencing a trial that is overwhelming you, come and find strength from Christ.
