Today – 25 October – marks an important milestone in the life of Tabernacle Baptist Church because this day 10 years ago  was the Revd. Peter Cho’s first official Sunday at Newbridge.

We thank God for all the blessings He has poured out upon us in this last decade and look forward to all that He is going to do for us under the leadership of Peter in the future. We also give God praise and thanks for the huge contribution made by Peter’s family – his wife Hyeran and daughters Mina (now studying at Cardiff University), Yena and Hana.

Peter, who was based at God’s Vision Church in London, felt a strong call from the Lord to serve His church in Wales. He was ordained on 31 October, 2010 at Castle Street United Welsh Church in central London, where God’s Vision Church shared some of the facilities. Peter was called to the joint pastorate of Beulah Baptist Church and daughter church Tabernacle and he was inducted on 20 November, 2010.

PRIVILEGE

Sadly, Beulah closed on 30 January 2016 because of major structural problems with its 206 -years-old building but a significant number of people transferred their membership to Tabernacle.

Reflecting on his 10 years at Newbridge, Peter said: “It has been a great joy and privilege to work alongside God’s people in this lovely community. We as a family are so grateful for the wonderful support and generosity shown to us. We look forward to a great time of worship and service ahead and give God all the glory, as ever keeping our eyes firmly fixed upon our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
